CARL E. RIEDER, DDS

FOUNDER and DIRECTOR

Carl Rieder received his dental degree from the University of Southern California in 1959 and was a clinical professor of Advanced Prosthodontic Education at USC. For 35 years he conducted a private practice in Newport Beach limited to fixed and removable prosthodontics.

In 1963 Dr. Rieder founded the Newport Harbor Academy of Dentistry and is its present director. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. In 2006 he received the Charles L. Pincus Award from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and in 2008 the Fred Gulick Distinguished Member Life Award from the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics.

Dr. Rieder has served as president of the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics, American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and American Equilibration Society. He is a life member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, American Academy of Orofacial Pain, and American Prosthodontic Society.
