Management of Advanced Immediate Temporization
and Loading of Implants

SYNOPSIS:

As clinicians and patients continue to push the boundaries for rehabilitation with dental implants, we have seen a significant trend towards working outside of the safety zone with dental implants.  Reduced healing times, immediate placement, temporization and/or loading are all concepts devised in principle to save time, reduce tissue loss, and improve esthetics.

This presentation will consider how such treatment can be executed in a safe and predictable manner, taking advantage of the latest in implant technology and design but also considering the complications that may arise.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Recognizing the parameters for immediate placement, temporization and/or loading;

2. Understanding the protocol for fabrication of a same-day restoration;

3. Recognizing risk factors and developing therapies to increase safety.
