NHAD ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

KEVIN J. YEN, 2011 Scholarship Recipient

On October 15, 2010, the Newport Harbor Academy members listened carefully to the presentations of the three finalists for our annual scholarship award.  This year the recipient was Kevin Yen.  He presented a restorative case involving a cast post core and crown.  His humorous and self-deprecating story of how the patient aspirated the post captivated the audience.

Kevin has proved himself to be an accomplished dental student.  Not only has he won numerous scholarships, but in the spring of 2007 he was nominated to the honorary fraternity Phi Kappa Phi. Kevin received a $10,000 contribution from the Newport Harbor Academy of Dentistry that will be applied directly to his USC tuition. Presently he is applying to oral surgery residencies while completing his senior year.

We heartily welcome Kevin into the NHAD family and look forward to getting to know him and mentoring him wherever possible.
